US Department of Housing and Urban Development
HUD’s mission is to increase homeownership, support community development and increase access to affordable housing free from discrimination. To fulfill this mission, HUD will embrace high standards of ethics, management and accountability and forge new partnerships–particularly with faith-based and community organizations–that leverage resources and improve HUD’s ability to be effective on the community level.
Federal Housing Administration (FHA)
The Federal Housing Administration, generally known as “FHA”, provides mortgage insurance on loans made by FHA-approved lenders throughout the United States and its territories. FHA insures mortgages on single family and multifamily homes including manufactured homes and hospitals. It is the largest insurer of mortgages in the world, insuring over 34 million properties since its inception in 1934.
New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR)
Supports community efforts to preserve and expand affordable housing, home ownership and economic opportunities, and by providing equal access to safe, decent and affordable housing.
New York State Affordable Housing Corporation
AHC creates homeownership opportunities for low and moderate income families by providing grants that subsidize the cost of newly constructed houses and the renovation of existing housing.
Housing Action Council
The mission of Housing Action Council is to increase and improve housing opportunities for low – and moderate – income households and special needs populations, including the homeless, elderly and disabled individuals throughout the Hudson Valley Region and surrounding counties. http://www.housingactioncouncil.org/

Westchester Residential Opportunities (WRO)
Founded in 1968 as a non-profit housing agency, Westchester Residential Opportunities, Inc. (WRO), champions the expansion of non-discriminatory housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income people in Westchester County, minorities, senior citizens, and the psychiatrically disabled. WRO is a HUD-certified Housing Counseling agency, a licensed real estate broker, and a United Way agency. All of WRO’s housing services for consumers are free, and are funded by government grants, private contributions, and corporate support.
Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB)
The Home Loan Bank of New York (“HLB”) helps community lenders advance housing and community growth.
The HLB is part of the congressionally chartered, nationwide Federal Home Loan Bank System which was created in 1932 to provide a flexible credit liquidity source for member community lenders engaged in home mortgage and neighborhood lending. The HLB increases the availability of mortgages and home finance to families of all income levels by offering high-value finance, correspondent and cash management services to assist our customers in more effectively serving their neighborhoods and meeting their Community Reinvestment Act responsibilities.
