Community Housing Innovations Receives Over $900,000 in HUD Funding for Renewal of Its Supportive Housing Programs
Community Housing Innovations, Inc. (CHI) recently received $909,342 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the renewal of its highly successful Supportive Housing Programs (SHP) in 2013. These funds help provide supportive services to homeless families and help them find and maintain permanent housing.

Community Housing Innovations, Inc. Announces Financial Fitness Workshop to be Held on September 17
On September 17, Community Housing Innovations, Inc. (CHI) will join Housing Action Council (HAC) and New York State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins to offer a Financial Fitness Workshop. The event will take place at the Yonkers Riverfront Library in Community Room B from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The library is located at One Larkin Center in Yonkers.

Pew Research Study: More Young Adults Living with Parents
The percentage of young adults living at home with their parents last year reached its highest level in at least four decades, according to a study released Thursday.

The Pew Research Center study found that a record 21.6 million young adults — defined as 18- to 31-year-olds — were living in their parents’ home in 2012. That 36 percent was four percentage points higher than those in that age range who were living with their parents in 2007, before the start of the recession, and tops the 34 percent when the recession officially ended in 2009, the report said.
